Cultural Protection Fund

The British Council is pleased to announce the latest projects to benefit from the Cultural Protection Fund; a £30million fund set up in partnership with DCMS in order to safeguard and promote cultural heritage at risk due to conflict overseas.

The Cultural Protection Fund is now supporting projects across Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen.

The latest projects to be announced will provide refugees with training to record their own intangible heritage and build skills to repair conflict affected buildings. In addition, projects will also work to document and protect languages, historical buildings and traditional crafts.
