Highlights from the recent GeoSIG AGM and committee meeting Monday 10 June 2019 12.00 – 16.00, held at The Briar Rose Birmingham


New committee members were appointed and actions for the coming year were discussed, including ways of engaging with the membership and preliminary thoughts regarding a CPD event in the forthcoming year.

  • 4 new committee members were elected John Walford, Sam Harrison, Graham Arkley, and Finn Pope-Carter (co-opted). Ed Burton was elected as Secretary
  • There was discussion of feedback from CIfA2019 geophysics session (thanks to all of those who took the time to fill in our questionnaire) and action points to take forward
  • The committee will focus on how the EAC guidelines can be best utilised to provide a standard for UK archaeological geophysics
  • We will also be looking at ways to provide better guidance to development control archaeologists and consultants (and geophysicists!)
