The Qualitative inequalities research for the archaeology sector project report from 2023 found that ‘respondents report that discriminatory attitudes and unconscious bias are common in some workplaces. These behaviours often go unchallenged by managers ‐ or are carried out by managers themselves’ and this has a negative impact on career progression.
Challenging unacceptable workplace behaviour can be a challenge in itself – the ability to intervene with techniques which are right for you are not always immediately obvious. ‘Active bystander’ is an innovative and award-winning training session which will support you or your staff to develop skills to challenge unacceptable behaviours, including those which may have become normalised over time.
