Summary

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Head of Developer Services and the Senior Project Management Team in the tender, design and delivery of built heritage projects in accordance with agreed business development targets and compliance with all local, regional, national and professional standards

  • To manage and complete built heritage projects from initiation to completion in accordance with agreed business development targets
  • To manage the delivery of projects to meet client requirements and underpin MOLA’s reputation as a leading commercial archaeological organisation
  • Carry out and maintain staff appraisals within your Line Management team and seek to help foster a culture of safety and CPD within the organisation. 

We are looking for motivated, experienced and capable individuals to join our Project Management team and deliver built heritage projects, principally within the London Region but also nationwide. Applications from experienced heritage consultants or experienced project managers are welcomed. We are offering a relocation allowance for successful candidates who relocate to London.

The role

The successful candidates will be expected to deliver a range of built heritage and historic conservation projects, as well as tendering for new work.  They will manage and deliver a range of built heritage projects within set timescales and budgets.  Maintaining quality standards and safe working practices are essential. 

Professional experience

Ideally candidates would have demonstrable experience of successfully tendering for, managing and delivery of a range of projects from initiation to completion.  However, there is also the opportunity for the right candidates with the ambition to move their career forward as part of MOLA’s commitment to career development, for which training and mentoring would be provided.  In order to help with this MOLA offer a structured training and development programme to develop help the right candidate develop the appropriate skills.

Membership of IHBC, or CIfA at Associate or Member grade, or eligibility and willingness to apply is required.  MOLA will pay for application and membership fees.  A full clean driving licence, or commitment to learn to drive, is also required as regular travel may be required.

Personal qualities

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage their own workload and prioritise accordingly.  A suitable level of experience in team management and project delivery is expected according to roles.  The successful candidates will be able to motivate, empower and inspire project teams and be able to build productive and professional relationships with all our partners across the sector including clients, consultants, other contractors and curators.  Good problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams are essential.
