Summary

Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust was established as a charity in 1988 to conserve and promote the archaeological and architectural heritage of Perth and Kinross for the benefit of residents, visitors and future generations.

We wish to appoint a historic building professional to lead on the delivery of our Perth City Heritage Fund, which has made a significant contribution to regenerating Perth through conservation of key historic buildings since 2012. Funded by Historic Environment Scotland and delivered in partnership with Perth & Kinross Council, the fund also contributes to Perth’s wider cultural offer, which will include a major redevelopment of Perth Museum in 2024. The post-holder will also administer our Community Heritage Grant scheme across Perth & Kinross and contribute to the delivery of outreach events such as Doors Open Day and the Trust’s flagship Lower City Mills project.

You will ideally have a relevant qualification in historic building conservation, architecture, town planning, or a related discipline. A sound understanding of best practice in historic buildings conservation and its role in supporting economic regeneration is required, along with strong administration, budgetary and resource management skills.

Based in Lower City Mills, Perth, but with hybrid working, the post offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a small, dynamic organisation that makes a big impact. In addition to projects in Perth, the post will include travel throughout Perth & Kinross. Terms and Conditions: 37 hour week/min. 25 days’ annual leave, flexible working hours and a 6% pension provision. The Job Description is available from www.pkht.org.uk
