Summary

York Archaeology delivers commercial archaeological services as part of York Archaeological Trust (YAT), from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham.  The Trust provides world famous heritage attractions with excavation, survey, consultancy, expert conservation services, research and an unmatched commitment to dissemination, engagement and public benefit.

We require additional field staff (Trainee Project Archaeologists, Project Archaeologists and Senior Project Archaeologists), operating from our Nottingham office, to deliver a wide range of archaeological projects, including sites of prehistoric, Roman and medieval date, both rural and urban.  Contracts of up to 12 months are on offer, with an immediate start.  

Essential criteria:

  • A degree in archaeology or related discipline and an appropriate level of demonstrable experience

Desirable criteria:

  • A driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential
  • CIfA membership and valid CSCS card is preferred
  • A First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous, but not essential
