Summary

John Moore Heritage Services is currently seeking experienced Project Officers, Supervisors and Trainees with immediate start.

 

Project Officer Salary in excess of £27,000 per annum (pay award pending)

Applicants must have at least 6 months commercial experience at that level. Substantial experience in report writing for various scales of archaeological projects is essential. Candidates with less experience will be considered for Trainee Project Officer positions.

The successful candidates will be required to undertake fieldwork projects and subsequent report writing; additionally, the candidates will be required to write reports for legacy projects. An ability to carry out digital illustration and familiarity with GPS survey equipment would be advantageous. The posts are permanent (with 6 month probation).

 

Project Supervisor £24,992.64 pa

Applicants must have at least 6 months commercial experience at that level. Candidates with less experience will be considered for Trainee Project Supervisor positions (£23,418.00 pa during the training period).

The successful candidates will be required to assist in the completion of fieldwork projects and subsequent post-excavation tasks. An ability to carry out digital illustration would be advantageous. The posts are permanent (with 6 month probation).

 

Trainee £19,686.36 pa

Trainee positions are available for those with less experience. Training would last for up to 12 weeks as defined in the CIfA approved JMHS Training Scheme.

 

All posts are based at the Wheatley head office, with projects in Oxfordshire as well as across southern England. Accommodation and subsistence is provided for away work.  Personal protective clothing will be issued for the duration of employment. All applicants must be CSCS carded. For those without such at the moment, advice will be given. A valid Driving Licence with own transport is essential for all positions. Preferably applicants will be members of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
