Summary

To support the Head of Developer Services and Directors in the safe operation and development of the business within the London Region and within MOLA. To work collaboratively with MOLA teams to ensure the implementation of effective business wide strategies in alignment with the organisation business plan

To lead on the tender, management and completion of major archaeological contracts in accordance with agreed business development targets so as to meet client requirements and underpin MOLA’s reputation as a leading commercial archaeology organisation

To manage and complete archaeological contracts in accordance with agreed business development targets

As an expert in your field, you will work within the MOLA Developer Services Project Management team to empart your knowledge and experience and to assist with the training, development and mentoring of colleagues. Carry out and maintain staff appraisals within your Line Management team and seek to help foster a culture of safety and CPD within the organisation. 

We are looking for motivated, experienced and capable individuals to join our Project Management teams and develop business within the London Region.  We are seeking to build on our team of Senior Project Managers and applications from experienced Project Managers or experienced Heritage Consultants are welcomed.

The role

Successful candidates will be expected to organise and manage tender bids, to procure new work and operate independently to deliver MOLAs strategic business, research and public benefit goals. In your role you will place Health and Safety at the fore and seek to contribute to continued improvement and best safe-working practices. As a Senior Project Manager you will manage a range of archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects simultaneously, whilst ensuring delivery within set timescales and budgets which you have costed and commercially manage. MOLA would welcome applications from candidates who have experience of large/complex schemes and infrastructure projects.

Personal qualities

You will be a strong and innovative multi-tasker, able to integrate with other team specialisms such as Consultancy, Community Engagement and Built Heritage into their Project Designs and delivery models.

You will be a confident negotiator, able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholder interests across a wide range of projects. You will also have a strong working knowledge of National Planning Policies and the planning process. Maintaining quality and high standards are essential and will be delivered through your skill with review, editing and production of technical and commercial reports. Your role will also require skill with managing people and as a Line Manager, you will seek to promote the wellbeing and professional development of your Line Management team.  

Membership of CIfA at Member grade or eligibility and willingness to apply is required. MOLA will pay for application and membership fees.  A full clean driving licence and willingness to drive is essential as travel within and outside London will be required.
