Trustee Positions

Since its foundation in 1870 the Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society has promoted the preservation, study and enjoyment of archaeology, history and architecture in Birmingham, Warwickshire and neighbouring areas. The Society is relaunching itself with a new business plan focused on community engagement and we are looking for people to help us deliver it.

 We are currently recruiting for two trustee officer positions, both of which are voluntary roles:

Treasurer

As part of the Executive Committee you will play an important role in the day to day running of the Society. You will be working to ensure that the Society’s finances are managed effectively. This will include developing financial procedures, undertaking day to day financial processes, proactively supporting income generation and reporting on income and expenditure. This role would suit someone with budget management experience and an understanding of charity finance.

Marketing Secretary

In this role you will be supporting the Executive Committee in growing and diversifying membership. You’ll be writing content for the website, you’ll develop the bi-annual newsletter and any required promotional materials. If you have communications experience plus a passion for archeology and local history, perhaps this role is for you.

We are also recruiting for non-portfolio trustee positions.
