Summary

SUMO GeoSurveys employs one of the most experienced groups of archaeological geophysicists and UAS specialists in heritage in the UK, with over 50 years of combined experience. We are looking to further expand our team based in Worcestershire and invite candidates with varying levels of experience to join this multi-disciplined Group. In addition to Archaeological and Engineering Geophysics and Aerial Surveys, the SUMO Group also specialises in Utility Detection, Topographic Surveys, Measured Building Surveys, and Laser Scanning.

SUMO GeoSurveys is a CIfA Registered Organisation.


Qualifications Preferred: Degree in Archaeology, Archaeological Sciences or related subject. An MSc in Archaeological Prospection, or similar, would be advantageous for the Experienced positions. Full training given including ATV driving. CIfA membership welcomed (fees paid).

Role: Carrying our geophysical surveys primarily using Bartington / Foester cart and hand held systems plus assisting on UAS work. Occasional utility detection work / building and topographic surveys etc.

These are field positions, though for the experienced posts suitable candidates will become involved in data processing, interpretation and report writing. All posts require a willingness to work outdoors in all weathers, in small teams staying away from home throughout the UK. Applicants need to be physically fit to be able to undertake these duties.
 

Accommodation (hotel/B&B/pub) and subsistence provided when working away from base. These are permanent posts. 33 days paid holiday (inclusive of Public Holidays). After the appropriate qualifying period you will be eligible for Pension Enrolment. Full PPE provided. HR scheme.

Full driving licence required for ALL posts.
