Summary
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in buildings archaeology with opportunities for professional development, technical training and progression towards management. It is vital that you are a good team member with a positive and enthusiastic approach to buildings archaeology. You will need to be self-motivating and able to work independently under your own initiative. It will also be occasionally necessary to work away from home with overnight stays. Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working in buildings archaeology in a commercial environment (experience of working in a non-commercial environment will be considered if skills and experience align);
- Track record of design, leadership and supervision of buildings archaeology projects;
- Current and valid UK driving licence;
- Knowledge and skills of buildings photography using a DSLR camera;
- Knowledge and skills of buildings archaeology in the field;
- Proven report writing skills to a high standard;
- Familiarity of working with graphics software packages such as AutoCAD and/or Adobe Suite.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in measured survey specifically related to historic buildings such as 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry or UAV survey;
- Experience working on complex or large built heritage sites;
- Previous experience completing Written Schemes of Investigation and Risk Assessment Method Statements;
- CIfA membership;
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant subject such as buildings archaeology or buildings conservation.

We require the services of an experienced buildings archaeologist to join our built heritage and survey team full time in our Edinburgh office. We have worked on built heritage sites throughout the UK for over 20 years and have worked on a diverse range of sites and buildings.
