The Role

As a Historic Environment Records Officer, you will maintain and enhance the Historic Environment Record (HER) for Exmoor National Park.

Leading the strategic development of information services, you will provide information, help and advice on the conservation and management of the historic environment to a wide range of agencies, owners of heritage assets, members of the public and stakeholders.

You will also work with colleagues to ensure that cultural heritage (archaeology, historic buildings, customs and traditions) is promoted via outreach events, displays and online.

Additionally, you will:

- Respond to HER consultations and queries
- Ensure records conform to national data standards and are curated and accessible
- Produce reports and make funding bids
- Carry out research by assessing technical reports and editing the information
- Develop outreach projects

About You

To be considered as a Historic Environment Records Officer, you will need:

- Experience in British archaeology, including Historic Environment Records
- Experience creating explanatory guidance, educational resources and publicity content
- Experience developing, maintaining and working to guidance and procedure documents
- A degree (or equivalent) in archaeology or a related subject
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as CIfA or IHBC
