Summary

Cotswold Archaeology continues to grow as a sustainable and strong business, working as one company from our four offices. We have ambitious plans and are committed to achieving them through strengthening and developing our core team of professionals. We are currently looking for a talented and experienced individual to lead the Publications team at our Cirencester Office, and to contribute to the overall management of the department.

As a Principal Manager within our busy Publications department, your key responsibilities will include overall responsibility for the quality, timely production and financial performance of all post-excavation projects managed at Cirencester; leadership, development and resourcing of the Cirencester Publications team; and contributing to the management of the wider Publications team and the Cirencester office.

You will have extensive experience of post-excavation work, including the writing, editing and quality assurance of publication texts, and have a proven track record of archaeological publication. You will also have considerable experience in the management of post-excavation projects, including completion of such projects to budget and deadline within a commercial environment, and in the management of people and teams. You will also have demonstrable business development and contract negotiation skills, with a clear understanding of contractual risk.

You will possess excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills, with a commitment to quality, and capable of effective cross-office working and managing a demanding work schedule. You will be a member of the CIfA at MCIfA level (or able to demonstrate that you meet the requirements and join if appointed) and hold a full manual driving licence.

Flexible working is available but the role will require a regular visible presence at our Cirencester office. Our generous package includes a competitive salary and annual leave allowance; paid sick leave; pension and life assurance schemes; assistance with relocation expenses; and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

If this sounds like you, and you are looking to progress your career with a leading, ambitious and forward-thinking company, we would love to hear from you.
