Location
Sites are predominately located in Yorkshire (Malton office) but we work on projects UK wide.

Summary

As a CIfA Registered Organisation with several individual accreditations, we strive to maintain CIfA’s core values and want our staff to be competent, able, and ethically minded as they undertake archaeological work. We aim to make room for CPD where possible, maintain current H&S competencies and have an external employee assistance programme; free at the point of use.   

Job description/person specification You will have at least 6 months experience in UK commercial archaeology. You will be enthusiastic, a problem solver and have a willingness to work, learn and take instruction. You should be fit and capable of undertaking physical work, with a courteous and professional manner. A good understanding of site narratives and formation processes is essential. Although the role is predominantly site based, you may be required to undertake post-excavation tasks as necessary.

All candidates must have the following:

• Good knowledge and understanding of British archaeology of all periods

• A commitment to working ethically within an industry wide Code of Conduct

• A good understanding of the nature of UK commercial archaeology

• The ability to work to deadlines

• An enthusiasm and strong ability in field archaeological practices

• Willingness to work on your own or as part of a team

• Willingness to work away from home

• Attention to detail

• Positive can-do attitude and appreciation of the working environment

• CSCS card

 

Desirable

• Relevant archaeological qualification

• CIfA membership
