Summary

We have an opportunity for a new Senior / Principal Archaeological Consultant to join AtkinsRéalis’ Heritage practice and contribute to exciting and challenging high-profile projects to deliver a more sustainable future and lead the drive towards Net Zero.  Working out of our York, Birmingham, Bristol or Epsom office, we are looking for the right person to take on management of historic environment projects for clients across the Energy, Defence, Transport, Water, Buildings & Places markets, and shape these key projects to deliver high-quality design, environmental and heritage outcomes.  This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the field, on some of the most technically complex and significant projects in today’s townscapes and landscapes.

Working across the UK and internationally, our skilled team of archaeologists, built heritage specialists and heritage managers provide historic environment expertise to wide range of clients, working on some of our most sensitive historic buildings and places to support development of exciting and innovative projects across the world.  We have an excellent reputation for innovation and imaginative engagement, with particular focus on net zero, social value and digital.

We’re looking for someone experienced in archaeology who will lead archaeological inputs to projects across a wide range of development types and for a diverse range of clients in a varied and fast-paced environment.  We’re looking for the right person who will:

  • Manage heritage specialists and act as archaeological and heritage technical advisor for a wide range of varied projects, providing technical advice on heritage management, design, mitigation and heritage consenting.
  • Have excellent reporting skills and the ability to prepare and review a wide range of heritage deliverables such as Heritage Baseline reports, Heritage Statements, Environmental Statements and Archaeological Strategies.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively as part of large, multidisciplinary teams and work with heritage stakeholders to drive forward sustainable development and infrastructure.
  • Bring their commercial awareness and business skills in supporting the growth and development of our business.
