£29,318 - £38,932 (dependent on experience)
Cirencester/Milton Keynes/Suffolk/Andover

As one of the leading archaeological practices in Britain, we are looking to strengthen our core team of professional archaeologists to ensure we have the capacity and breadth of skills needed to maintain our high standards of service. To achieve this, we are looking for talented individuals experienced in post-excavation analysis and report writing to join our Publications team on a permanent basis.

As a Publications Officer at CA you will have a sound knowledge of British Archaeology, experience in the post-excavation assessment and analysis of site records, and the demonstrable ability to write archaeological reports, including texts for publication. The Senior Publications Officer role is similar but more so, requiring extensive experience of post-excavation reporting and a proven track record of archaeological publication. For both roles, competence in the use of archaeological databases and graphics software would be an advantage, as would experience in the editing, compilation and quality assurance of excavation and publication reports. You will need an eagle-eye for detail, a flexible ‘can do’ attitude, and a willingness to work on a wide range of projects and activities.

In return we can offer a generous package including a competitive salary; flexible working arrangements; generous annual leave allowance; pension and life assurance schemes, assistance with relocation expenses and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

If you are interested and want to find out more, for an informal discussion contact Sarah Cobain (for Milton Keynes or Suffolk – 07718 570 882) or Alistair Barclay (for Andover or Cirencester – 07395 791 178).

For a detailed Job Specification, and to apply for this post, please visit our recruitment site and submit an application by 9am on Monday 5th June 2023. In your covering letter, please indicate whether you would like to be considered for the Senior Publications Officer or Publications Officer role.
