Summary

Archaeology South-East is part of UCL – a global multidisciplinary university with a diverse community and progressive approach to teaching and research. As part of the UCL Institute of Archaeology, research and learning are at our core - and we want you to work with us to continue delivering on this mission.

We take pride in delivering high quality project outcomes for our clients, working hard to maximise research and public benefit from development-led fieldwork. We work for a range of people supporting development and infrastructure projects as well as heritage management. Our large team provides a comprehensive range of services and areas of specialist expertise, so there are plenty of people to learn from as your career in archaeology progresses

About the role

We are looking to recruit two new team members, both with strong geoarchaeological backgrounds. This role embraces both on-site and off-site work. You will undertake geoarchaeological fieldwork and process geoarchaeological samples along with writing reports and creating deposit models.

We have projects running from our offices near Brighton, East Sussex and in Witham, Essex and we are keen to consider applicants for both locations. Whilst we have local work coming up, staff are sometimes required to undertake stay away work.

You are likely to have a degree (archaeology, geography, geology or other related discipline, ideally with a geoarchaeology component). You will also have demonstrable experience of undertaking archaeological or geoarchaeological fieldwork, maybe in a UK commercial archaeology setting.

A driving license and being willing to drive for work is essential.
