The Archives Group are organising a series of regional workshops designed to promote good practice in working with archaeological archives. We hope to attract people from all areas of archaeology, including those working in development control, contracting, consulting, specialist work and museums.
Recent (and indeed not so recent) surveys have shown that there is a wide variation in the requirements for the archiving of archaeological projects, methods of archive compilation and the monitoring of results. These workshops are designed to provide hands-on training in archive methodology and to facilitate prompt discussion of the context and issues around archive practice.
The next workshop will take place in Leicester on 19 June.
