The Arc was launched in August as an online initiative with CIAT, Icon and CIOB to help potential clients to quickly find historic environment professionals who are able to provide them with expert advice and help stimulate client demand: https://the-arc.uk/
Initially the Arc was launched to point to CIfA Registered Organisations (ROs) as there is already a readily searchable facility on CIfA’s website and list to find suitable contacts. ROs range in size from one employee to over 100, and to retain their status they submit a new application for registration every three years, when they are inspected by a panel of peers.
CIfA’s database is currently being updated and, in the coming months will be able to highlight MCIfA accredited professionals who are available for consultancy.
A member-led focus group will be established to review The Arc initiative within the next year, to make sure it is a useful and valuable resource and that it will be sustainable into the future.
