Earlier this week, Canterbury Archaeological Trust suffered a break in at their stores. While the crime appears to have been opportunistic, a large number of artefacts including a collection of Anglo-Saxon glass beads, coins, and other items were taken and widespread damage was caused as the thieves ransacked boxes.
The Trust is urging people to look out for any of these objects which may be offered for sale. If you see or hear anything which may be relevant, please get in touch with Kent Police.
Coverage of the story can be found in the Guardian.
