Early career or student archaeologist? Share your work at ECSIG's annual conference!

It's back! Join CIfA Early Careers Group at the Student and Early Career Conference this Summer as part of the Festival of Archaeology!

To be held on Wednesday 26 July, this informal and inclusive conference is open to individuals with any level of presenting experience.

The aim is to make as many people as possible feel comfortable contributing. With this in mind, we will be accommodating a range of presentation methods, such as:
• Short talks
• Pre-recorded presentations
• Posters

What will I get out of contributing?
As there is no theme, participants will be able to present on any archaeological subject of their choice, creating a unique opportunity for individuals to showcase their specific interests, research or involvement in the sector.
Developing skills and confidence in this area could positively impact your future career. The flexible and relaxed nature of this conference makes it an ideal platform for any student or early career archaeologist to gain presenting experience.

How will the conference run?
Presentations will be grouped together in hour-long sessions, with questions to contributors at the end of each sitting. We are also looking for any students or early career archaeologists who may be interested in chairing these sessions.
There will also be a panel discussion and networking opportunities for participants.

What support will I get?
Ahead of the conference, a mentoring session with tips and advice on presenting and writing abstracts will be offered. A more experienced archaeologist will be on hand on the day to support each session if help is needed.

When will it happen?
This conference takes place on Wednesday 26 July 2023 and will run from 3pm to approximately 9pm in the evening to make it easier for a range of people to attend and contribute.

How do I take part?
If you are interested in participating, please submit a short abstract to earlycareerssig@gmail.com, by 9am Monday 5th June.
