We know that this is an incredibly stressful and uncertain time for our industry and want to offer our support where we can. The immediate actions CIfA has taken so far are
- to set up a web resource providing links to information and advice to individuals and employers in terms of UK government advice, employment, wellbeing and welfare. This will be kept up to date regularly www.archaeologists.net/practices/coronavirus
- to allow CIfA members who have suffered a loss of income to have an immediate reduction on their subscription fees by applying for a concessionary rate www.archaeologists.net/membership
- to postpone Registered Organisation inspection visits to April 2021
- to waive the application fee for individuals upgrading their membership to continue to support career progression
- to encourage members to keep up to date with their CPD and to continue to provide CPD opportunities and links to resources via our professional development page www.archaeologists.net/profdevelopment
- to start collecting information and case studies to offer practical advice about how organisations and individuals can adapt their working practices to cope with the imposed restrictions
- to collect information from individuals and organisations about the current and future impacts of the COVID-19 on the industry to advocate for changes to Government policies
