The object of the scheme for the Registration of Organisations is to ensure that organisations carry out their historic environment work in accordance with the Code of conduct of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
At its last meeting, the Registrations Committee (Organisations) took the decision to remove Thames Valley Archaeological Services (TVAS) from the RO register as they were issued with a third condition of registration within a three-year period. The conditions came about as part of the inspection and monitoring process that takes place when an organisation applies to be on the register.
A condition of registration is issued when an organisation has the potential to do work that could be considered in breach of the Code of conduct, other regulations and Standards and guidance unless action is taken to address this.
Any organisation removed from the register will be expected to demonstrate that they have addressed any issues that resulted in their removal as part of a future application for registration.
