Amanda Forster BSc PhD MCIfA FSA Scot oversees all external communications, raises awareness of the organisation and promotes the vital work of its members and Registered Organisations both within and outside of the heritage sector, as well as to Government. She previously worked as Post Excavation Manager at Birmingham Archaeology, University of Birmingham, where she also managed the postgraduate programme in Practical Archaeology. Amanda has an active interest in the medieval period, especially in Scotland, the Northern Isles and Scandinavia. She has published work on the identification and use of soapstone objects in the Viking North Atlantic.
