The Council provides a range of advice to the Department for Communities to support its common purpose of supporting people, building communities and shaping places. Much of this advice is specifically to support the work of the

Department’s Historic Environment Division, whose aim is to help communities enjoy and realise the value of the historic environment.

The discussions, deliberations and advisory role of the Council all support the work of the Department in treasuring the past and thereby enriching the future, recognising the multiple ways in which the historic environment can support prosperity, strengthen society and shape character.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to use their skills and experience as either Chair or Member to make a significant contribution to the protection and development of our unique and important historic environment
