Advertise

Advertisements (up to a maximum A4 page) can be placed in JIST and online for a fee:

  • £150 for a standard advert (maximum A4 page)
  • £75 for a single paragraph (maximum of 60 words)
  • CIfA Registered Organisations can advertise for free (up to a maximum A4 page)

Adverts will appear in the circulated Jobs bulletin once and remain online until the closing date has passed.

Advertisers are asked to provide the information requested in the following guidance:

  • Please email final copy as a Word document (.docx) and a logo (.jpg) to Michael Sharp at admin@archaeologists.net by 5pm on a Wednesday for your advert to go into the next Monday's bulletin. If you have not received a reply within 48 hours, please get in touch to check we have received your advert.
  • Advertising a training role? Please refer to the CIfA policies document on the use of training posts, Section 2.4 pp11-12. Further guidance and links to example training plans can be found here.
  • Advertising an invitation to tender? We expect organisations to ensure their tender invitations comply with the Code of conduct and relevant CIfA Standards when calculating the tender value. We don't regularly monitor individual tenders but will ask for further information if our members raise concerns about specific adverts.
  • Please note, firm quotes can only be provided on receipt of full advert text and there may be an extra charge for any revisions. It is the advertiser's responsibility to provide all relevant details in their advert, including web links, salary and a closing date.

  • While we do not control advertisements that appear in the bulletin, if any adverts appear to raise issues of employment practice, we will contact the advertising organisation to address these issues. This includes compliance with the UK National Minimum Wage.

  • CIfA’s salary benchmarking for 2024 was carried out using data from a selection of jobs advertised in JIST and on BAJR between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 and highlights minimum, maximum and average salaries for roles requiring Practitioner (PCIfA), Associate (ACIfA) and Member (MCIfA) level competence. You can see the results here
