CIfA's Area Groups represent different geographical areas across the historic environment sector. They were formed by CIfA members who want to promote the Institute's work and provide a forum for discussion regarding good practice and assist in setting high professional standards. Groups also present specialist views through the Advisory Council and respond to consultations from external bodies when requested.
As the professional association for archaeology in Germany, the group aims to achieve a systemic improvement of the profession to make it fit for the future.
CIfA's Scottish Group represents the interests of Scotland, and those working in Scotland to CIfA Advisory Council and informs the CIfA's work in this area.
The CIfA Cymru/Wales Group is a forum for professional archaeologists working in Wales.
