Cotswold Archaeology is one of the leading providers of professional archaeological and heritage services in the UK. We provide a complete archaeological service including fieldwork, post-excavation and heritage consultancy.
Our Heritage Consultancy department works with an unrivalled diversity of clients throughout the UK. We have acted as the expert archaeology, heritage and historic building consultants on some of the largest and most high-profile projects in the country. We also have extensive experience in a broad portfolio of projects which span the logistics, residential, retail, marine and utilities sectors. This allows us to work on some of the most interesting and challenging development and conservation projects in the country. On-going research projects for the national heritage agencies also allow our team to work at the cutting edge of new thinking in archaeology and heritage; while our conservation planning and historic building work allows us to directly contribute to the realisation of improved management, access and presentation of the historic environment. We support our clients from the first stages of scheme inception, informing and shaping development plans, on some of the most iconic and historic buildings and places in the UK. Our work allows us to engage on projects all the way through the planning and consenting processes and we are often entrusted to act as Expert Witness during appeals.
We are seeking candidates to lead our teams of consultants and manage a wide portfolio of projects. The Principal or Senior Heritage Consultant will have demonstrable experience of leading complex heritage consultancy commissions associated with development projects in the public and private sectors. Line-management and mentoring junior colleagues will be a key component of the role. Specific expertise in EIA work is desirable; an expert understanding of ‘setting issues’ is essential.
The successful candidates will require excellent communication and report writing skills, good IT skills, a strong commitment to CPD, the ability to manage a demanding personal work schedule and a full manual driving licence.
The majority of the projects within your portfolio will be in Central and Southern England. A flexible approach to home working will be available.
Financial assistance with relocation is available, and our competitive benefits package includes company sick pay, group life assurance and a generous contributory pension. If you hold a full manual driving licence and believe you have something to contribute to our team, we would like to hear from you. For an informal discussion on the roles available please contact Rob Sutton, Director of Heritage Consultancy on 07739 321816.
