Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust is a Scottish charity established to conserve and promote the archaeological and architectural heritage of the area for the benefit of residents, visitors, and future generations. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and skilled archaeologist to maintain and enhance our Historic Environment Record and use this record to engage the public both through projects and outreach products. With strong GIS skills, they will:
- Maintenance and enhancement of HER data – adding new data and addressing the backlog
- Improve accessibility to the HER and developing opportunities for volunteer/student engagement
- Develop outreach products based on the HER, such as a visitor leaflets, and social media posts
- Support to the Principal Archaeologist in the delivery of the planning archaeology service to Perth & Kinross Council.
Candidates will have an archaeology degree and strong IT skills (including a working knowledge of GIS and databases). Experience of outreach work and both traditional and digital media is welcomed, as is a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The full-time, permanent post is based in Perth, with a 36-hour week and 25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays). Flexible working is in place, including an element of home working.
