Description
This will be our second event, and will bring together geoarchaeological and palaeoenvironmental specialists across all career stages, as well as those with an interest in our discipline to hold open discussions and and learn from other Network members around a specific topic or are of work.
This session will be held on Friday 4 September 2026 from 12:00 - 13:00 and will be focussing on The Palaeolithic. We'll share a couple of short 15 minute presentations around the topic, and then time for questions and discussions with other Network members.
- Dr Matt Pope (UCL / Archaeology South East) will provide an introductory talk on the Palaeolithic, covering everything from DBAs, through sampling strategies, and the law, through to supporting diversity.
- Professor Rob Hosfield (University of Reading) on the Historic England Curating the Palaeolithic guidance, and provisional responses to feedback from the recent survey that was circulated.
