York Archaeology delivers commercial archaeological services from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham. The organisation provides world famous heritage attractions with excavation, survey, consultancy, expert conservation services, research and an unmatched commitment to dissemination, engagement and public benefit.
We require Project Archaeologists on a fixed-term basis (3 months in the first instance) for fieldwork projects within Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Gloucestershire and Rotherham. Applicants local to these areas are encouraged to apply. Contracts will be project-specific, and extensions may be available in line with project needs. Please specify in your application which area you will be applying for.
Essential criteria
- A degree in archaeology or related discipline and an appropriate level of demonstrable experience
- Minimum 6 months experience within commercial fieldwork, successful completion of an existing training scheme, or demonstrable equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- A full, UK driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential
- A willingness to drive site vehicles, including welfare vans, would be extremely desirable
- CIfA membership would be advantageous, but not essential

A First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous, but not essential
