Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust (PKHT) is seeking an inspiring Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next chapter. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of Scotland’s most dynamic heritage trusts, ensuring sustainability while maximising impact across conservation, archaeology, skills training and community engagement.

About PKHT

PKHT is an independent charity dedicated to conserving and promoting the historic environment of Perth and Kinross. For over 30 years, it has delivered projects in archaeology, building conservation and public engagement, connecting people with their heritage while supporting regeneration, placemaking and wellbeing. Entering an exciting phase of development, PKHT now seeks a CEO with vision and practical leadership to build on this success.

The Role

The CEO will provide clear strategic leadership, working with Trustees, staff and partners to:

  • Lead on strategy, business planning and governance.
  • Inspire and develop a skilled team, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Oversee delivery of archaeology, conservation, skills and engagement projects.
  • Ensure strong financial management, income generation and compliance.
  • Act as ambassador, raising PKHT’s profile and building partnerships.
  • Manage property and assets, including development of a new office.

 

About You

You will bring leadership experience in the heritage, charity or not-for-profit sector, with a strong track record in planning, financial management, fundraising and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of Scotland’s historic environment, charity governance and policy is essential, alongside excellent communication and advocacy skills.
