York Archaeology delivers commercial archaeological services from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham.
We require Project Archaeologists operating from our Nottingham office, to deliver a wide range of archaeological projects, including sites of prehistoric, Roman and medieval date, both rural and urban. Initial 6-month fixed term contracts are offered, with scope to extend following successful completion of a probation period, and in line with project needs. Applicants will be expected to work locally within the region and farther afield; accommodation, transport and subsistence funds will be provided.
Essential criteria:
- A degree in archaeology or related discipline and an appropriate level of demonstrable experience
- Minimum 6 months experience within commercial fieldwork, successful completion of an existing training scheme, or demonstrable equivalent experience
Desirable criteria:
- A full, UK driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential
- A willingness to drive site vehicles, including welfare vans, would be extremely desirable
- CIfA membership would be advantageous, but not essential
- A First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous, but not essential
