The role:

We are are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graphics Assistant/Supervisor (dependent upon experience and demonstrable technical competence) to support a diverse portfolio of heritage and archaeological projects, with further opportunities to assist within our multidisciplinary team. This is full-time permanent position based out of our Sheffield office with hybrid working. 

The role will include the production of high‑quality graphical outputs to support project designs and technical reports, publications and other graphical design, and assist with GIS and CAD workflows under the direction of the Graphics Officer. It will include the management of digital data arising from archaeological site work, and particularly survey data. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and/or a willingness to develop professionally, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines across multiple project types in a commercial environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

· The processing and presentation of technical data (e.g. plans, sections, survey outputs, figures, photographs, diagrams) using relevant software such as GIS and CAD.

· The processing, enhancement and organisation of images, photographs and other media for use across reports, publications and project outputs.

· Providing graphical support across the full range of disciplines covered by the organisation, including archaeology, geophysics, ecology and environmental sciences.

· To work independently with the support and guidance of the Graphics Officer, producing deliverables to agreed scopes, timescales, and budgets.

· Ensure all work complies with Cura Terrae’s policies, professional standards, and health and safety requirements.

· Perform other duties and training as reasonably required.

 

About You

· A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., archaeology, geospatial studies, design, or related fields) is desirable, as is experience in commercial heritage and archaeology or technical data processing.

· Proven ability to produce clear, accurate and consistent graphical material for reports, publications and other project deliverables.

· An understanding of the principles of field survey, data recording and spatial representation.

· Specialist illustration or visualisation skills (e.g., artefact illustration, photography, ecological mapping, geophysical data presentation).

· Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

· Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to data handling.

· Excellent communication skills.

· A proactive and collaborative attitude.

· Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant experience through a portfolio or examples of previous graphical outputs, submitted as part of the application or made available at interview.
