Gwynedd Archaeological Trust is a non-profit making educational charity and a private limited company. The Trust was established in 1975 as part of a network of four Welsh archaeological trusts covering the whole of Wales. The object for which the Trust is established, as stated in its Memorandum and Articles of Associations is to advance the education of the public in archaeology. The Trust is currently organised into three principal sections: Heritage Management, Commercial fieldwork; Administration, which are responsible, through the Chief Archaeologist, to a Board of Trustees.
