Deadline

Bring your curiosity, your judgement, and your enthusiasm — and we’ll match it with trust, support, and genuinely interesting projects.

Joining our team is an exciting opportunity to be part of the UK’s largest independent specialist archaeology and built heritage consultancy. Since our establishment in 2015, we have grown significantly through the trust of our clients and the commitment and capability of our people.
Our main office is based in the heart of Brighton, offering an open, modern workspace with room to collaborate and space to focus. We also have a northern office in Manchester, reflecting our truly national reach.

Who We Are

We are a team of skilled and passionate specialists with backgrounds spanning archaeology and built heritage. Our approach is defined by clarity, honesty, and practical guidance — grounded in deep sector understanding and delivered with integrity.
We work across the UK on projects of all scales. We take pride in offering solutions that are thoughtful, flexible, and tailored to each place, project and client.

The Role

As a Senior Archaeology Consultant, you’ll play a key role in supporting and undertaking consultancy work across a wide range of archaeology and development projects. If you enjoy solving problems, thinking strategically, and helping shape better outcomes for heritage and place, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact.

Your work will include:

  • Drafting and contributing to high-quality reports and advice
  • Providing informed guidance to clients and project teams
  • Undertaking research, assessments, and planning-related work
  • Supporting and contributing to project and business development

This is a role where your voice and ideas will matter, and where you can genuinely leave your mark.
The job is preferably to be based in or commutable to the Brighton office, but the Manchester office is an option. Hybrid working is an option but regular attendance at one of the offices will be needed.

About You

You will bring:

  • A solid understanding of UK archaeology policy and legislation
  • The ability to interpret and communicate research in a project context
  • A degree in archaeology or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in dealing with setting matters, while not essential, is desirable
  • A full UK driving licence

You will be:

  • A strong and clear communicator
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Curious, thoughtful, and commercially aware
  • Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and positively

Most importantly, you’ll care about the quality and purpose of the work you do.

What We Offer

As a growing, independent consultancy, we offer the benefits of a close-knit team environment alongside real professional scope and responsibility.
You can expect:

  • Competitive salary plus performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid working and a full IT kit for flexible productivity
  • Pension contribution and death-in-service benefit
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus paid Christmas shutdown
  • A supportive team who values your wellbeing, development, and voice

What truly sets us apart is our culture. We’re a supportive, down-to-earth team who value thoughtful, collaborative working. We share knowledge openly, respect different perspectives, and trust people to work with autonomy. Good work comes from curiosity, care, and enjoying what we do — and we work hard to ensure the environment reflects that.
